HELLO FRIENDS ...
The following is a “check in” motivational e-mail from the Ghosh Yoga Mentorship program, now inactive. The mentorship program was created and hosted by two brilliant yogis, students, authors, yoga historians, teachers, champions and much more!

The reminder this week is to just keep going!
It's so easy to get thrown off track with scheduling, how we feel, our workload, etc. When any number of distractions pop up, the mind can easily say "it's ok if you skip today." Remember, the mind will always create thought, most of which is unhelpful! So, keep going. Keep practicing. Keep up your work. Don't let yourself get caught up in all the reasons your practice isn't going as smoothly as you'd like.
And remember, we're here to help. Let us know if you're stuck and we'll work it out together.
MY comments here!
In the first sentence they say; “…just keep going!” These two teachers and I, join with the likes of Arnold Schwarzenegger and many others who say; “NEVER GIVE UP!” When you have a passion for something that turns into a goal and then a vision and eventually a life’s PURPOSE, you must keep going, no matter what. The above sites; scheduling, emotions, and daily workload as examples of why we might not practice one day. These “number of distractions”, that voice in your head that says; “it’s ok to skip today, I’m too tired, there’s always tomorrow”, JUST KEEP GOING, NEVER GIVE UP. The voice in your head is mostly negative and very repetitive. This voice also takes you away from things that make you happy, things you like to do, want to do and need to do, to achieve what was a good idea and a passion when you created the goal or objective in the first place. That voice wants to keep you in a condition of discomfort and uneasiness. It repeats the same message over and over for days, weeks months and yes, even years! We don’t want to ignore the voice, we must acknowledge that voice, say; “thank you for being there, my friend. Now I know I do not want to follow that thought”. And then JUST KEEP GOING, NEVER GIVE UP! The more we fight that voice, ignore it, avoid it, deny it or resist it in any way, it gets BIGGER!
I heard Joe Rogan once say; “when we give into to that voice, negative thought, and poor inner dialog, our subconscious mind realizes there can be an OUT to our discipline, consistency and determination”. So, we then coast and see how we feel on the day or the time of our scheduled activity. We might blow it off just for now or this time. This cannot be! Realize the there is no such things as a poor workout or training session and do it anyway. JUST KEEP GOING, NEVER GIVE UP! Eventually, our dreams diminish, and we progress through time, without purpose. This is how people age poorly with a diminished mind and body or get old. That subject will have to be another blog!
Fulfilling your vision, is the training of the mind with constant mental repetition to stay on track, focus, concentrate and remember what you are doing and WHY you are doing it. THE MOTIVATION! Eventually, the longer-term goal will take a back seat to the consistency. Many times, your longer term goal is NOT as important than the smaller building blocks that are right in front of you now. Replace the negative gramophone recordings in your mind with the tapes those of those champions and role models that you admire. Those champions are encouraging you to be the best version of YOU that you can be. JUST KEEP GOING, NEVER GIVE UP!
In conclusion: If your passion and motivation is strong, stay focused and move forward as frequently as possible! Remember, distractions, procrastination, and nay-sayers will arrive. This is your opportunity to execute your calm inner strength and move forward with your vision.
JUST KEEP GOING, NEVER GIVE UP!
Thank you, Scott and Ida, for the inspiration! https://www.ghoshyoga.org
